Service Definitions
Below is a brief description of our philosophy and commitment to quality. Many of the details of our proprietary system are not listed. However, we will be glad to discuss the aspects of our programs with any owner who wishes to learn more about our services.
We view our services as a testament of workmanship; they are our signature on a promise to a client and an industry. We actively pursue the mastery of our craft for the betterment of the Thoroughbred breed.
Tammy Vosburgh adds 33 years of practical, hands on experience to the quality of care provided to your bloodstock investment.
The farm operates within a documented quality control system. It has two main functions.
This is not a new way of raising and caring for horses, it's about putting a number value on how well we are doing it. It is about carrying out a plan with purpose and determination. This is done by measuring how well we meet our owner's expectations.
Our services are focused on two types of owners, with two distinct objectives. One, to produce a session topper, and two, to cross the wire first.
Our residents are observed and monitored daily. Monthly photographs are taken and compared to previous months; we do not rely on memory or anecdotes.
A new photo is sent to the owner each month with their monthly statement for services.
A photo archive is available on the Athlete's Equine Management Dashboard. Owners, Veterinarians, and Trainers can access the Athlete's EMP 24 hours a day via the Internet.
Our Broodmare Program covers all aspects of managing the development of your bloodstock investment. From transitioning your race filly to a broodmare, to providing recommendation on mating, to foaling, and then weaning, the health and welfare of the mare is top priority.
Our Broodmare Management Program is a customized, hands on approach to the management of your bloodstock. Individual care based on individual needs.
One aspect of the Program is the mare's weight and nutritional requirements. They are tightly controlled and monitored. The health and nutritional requirements of the mare are direct inputs to the quality of athlete produced. It is a Critical To Quality (CTQ) metric that is monitored and adjusted on an ongoing basis.
We use CyberSteed to help monitor and track the mare's nutritional requirements. CyberSteed was developed by Kentucky Equine Research.
Our Juvenile Development program covers the systematic development of professional equine athletes from stand and nurse to Sales Agency or Trainer delivery. Our Juvenile Development Program is a Continuous Improvement Project. The value stream of this service is based on the goals of both types of Owner. The ability of one Owner, to achieve their Primary Objective, is directly tied to the others ability to achieve theirs.
The goal of the Juvenile Development Program is to identify individual needs and correct deficiencies in each future athlete while providing a natural environment for growth.
Striving for nutritional balance...
Feeding young horses is a careful balancing act. The correlation between genetics,
management and nutrition is complex.
While we can do nothing to change the genetic road map, we can alter its course
with proper management. The nutritional start a foal gets can have a
profound effect on its health and soundness for the rest of its life.
One can accelerate growth if so chosen. However, research has shown
that a balanced dietary approach that supports moderate growth is less likely
to cause developmental problems. Some conditions, which have been associated
with rapid growth rates, include:
• Contracted Tendons
• Epiphysitis
• Angular Limb Deformities
• Osteochondrosis
This is why we use gro-trac. We measure; therefore we know.

We use time-tested, Hallway Feeds with Edge
Technology. In
addition to the high quality and exceptional nutritional value of our feeds,
we utilize a nutritional management program designed by Kentucky Equine Research
(KER). It is an important management tool that tracks the growth and
development of new foals. Each foal is weighed at 30 days and is re-measured
each month until delivered to market.
Growth and development is tracked and compared to other foals of that age, as well as historic averages.
This data is also available at the owners information dashboard located on our website.
Located two miles from The Thoroughbred Training Center it is convenient for owners to visit both, horses in training and those in crisis. These specialty cases include post surgical layup, bowed tendons, and mental breaks. We accept only two post surgical layups at one time, other convalescent type layups are on a space available basis. The value stream of this services is based on the primary objective of the Owner; to Cross the Wire First. Speed and durability after recovery is the subject of a future continuous improvement project. <more details are on the way>
